Soooo....what's the rating on that one?

As I was driving out of the mall today I had to stop and wait at the light. I turned to my right and noticed this movie title that looked a little odd.... (See the last title.) Too funny......

This weekend

On Saturday we went to a chamorran carnival at our friend, Emma's school. Logan rode on his first carabao! Tyler got just close enough to it so I could get him in the shot. He was not interested in riding that big smelly animal. I thought it was kinda cute!

On Sunday we had chapel at the beach. It was beautiful and so much fun. I really enjoy having chapel on the beach because you're in God's church...the world! Who needs a building?? Afterwards we ended up lounging by the pool for several hours. It was great. Logan swam like a fish (I was worried that he would tire himself out after numerous trips across the pool but he didn't!) and Tyler was like a little buoy floating around. In the picture below they came together for a short time to float on the pool noodle. The good time ended soon after when Tyler had had enough of his brother's antics.
Here's a good shot of Ryland with his two teeth. He was such a good baby at the pool. He's probably going to follow along with his brothers because he loves the water and actually tried diving in several times while Jen and I held him. He actually WANTED to put his face in!
Benji and Tyler were having a good time ham'n it up for the camera. See more pics in the web album. I actually got into it with them!

The natives were restless....

My little mini-men were very bored today so I decided to take them on a jungle trek or what we on Guam call, a boonie stomp. I loaded up the explorers, their flashlights (thanks for the idea, Lauren!) and we set off for a cave. I read them the book "We're going on a bear hunt" all the time so that's what I said we were doing. That probably wasn't the best thing to say since Tyler wanted NO part in hunting for bears. I told him that there aren't any bears on the island, only boars. To which he said..."I don't want any boar pigs!" Yes, not a good idea to tell him that one either.

We found a cave that the Japanese had dug out during WWII and we set out to explore it. We made it as far as the entrance before my little chicken (Ty) was saying...."Can we go back home now??" Logan was at least brave enough to pose for a picture. I can't blame Tyler though, after seeing the move "Letters from Iwo Jima" I was a little creeped out. If you haven't seen it yet, it shows how they used the technique of fortifying themselves in caves like this for protection. I had flashbacks from the movie and actually envisioned a Japanese soldier running at me with a bayonette! Yes I do have quite the imagination! Logan wanted me to go in with him but I made the excuse up that Ryland was in the backpack and I was afraid that I would hit his head on the ceiling of the cave!

I decided to take them on the trail we found since the cave was now out of the question. Tyler squealed most of the time because he was afraid of spiders and I tried to put on a brave face (like Logan had naturally!) and hit the spider webs down with a stick. Well after seeing my first gargantuan banana spider I hightailed it out of there with Tyler following suit! Well....at least I tried to go on a boonie stomp! Below are a few pics that I took, check out the one with Logan "helping" his little brother past a spiderweb.

Hippity Hoppity.....Happy Easter!

Yes, Ryland does look like he's in pain but I assure you he's not. He was a little tired and grumpy and I made them pose for a picture as we were rushing off to church. We were late as usual!

Easter morning they each got a small little basket. Of course they were so excited to see a big chocolate bunny....more chocolate than they EVER get in one sitting.
Yesterday we decorated easter eggs. It was a lot of fun and they really got into mixing the colors. In the afternoon on Saturday, we went for an easter egg hunt that some friends were putting on.
All the kids patiently posed for a few pictures right before we let them go. It was a wild race to get the eggs. I helped Tyler while Logan disappeared with the bigger kids to get the harder reach eggs. Judging from the picture above he did just fine. They were only supposed to get 10 eggs each but you know how that goes.........
Ryland wanted in on the egg action too. He really enjoyed gnawing on this egg.
Saturday evening was a lot of fun. We went to McD's and brought our food down to Polaris Point with the Miller's to enjoy the sunset. Guam has some of the most beautiful sunsets that I have ever seen.

Weekly Update

I've been so busy with being sick and fixing up friends' blogs that I've neglected my own!

We took Logan to the ENT doc today and as of right now, he does NOT need to have his tonsils out. They are enlarged but he wants us to just keep an eye on them. If he stops breathing for a short period of time at night (sleep apnea) then we'll look again at taking them out.

On Wednesday Logan rode a bike without training wheels! YAY! It's been quite the challenge for Logan because he gives up after the first time if he doesn't do it perfectly. I remember being like that when I was younger so I certainly can't fault him for it! I'm just a little more stern with him and he gets back on and tries again. Although Chris gets all the credit for this one. He practiced with him a lot and he finally let him go.

Ride little buddy...RIDE!!
On Thursday we had mom's group at my friend, Lauren's house. It was fun since Logan and Cole go to school together (they are on spring break this week) so they got a chance to play. Afterwards myself and three friends took our kids to Guam's version of an aquarium. The kids had fun as usual, the adults were a little stressed trying to keep up with the kids...ok, no one was stressed...just me!
Here's all the kids stopping (briefly) for a pose.
On Friday, Chris took the day off and we decided to go to Onward Waterpark. We had a very good time in the lazy river and riding the waves in the wave pool. There really aren't any waves here on Guam that you can swim in (strong rip current where there are some). We picked some chairs right by the lazy river and these four Japanese girls were swimming by. They took one look at Ryland and jumped right out to say hi. They wanted me to take a picture of him with them. I, in turn, had to "document" it for my blog!
Ryland the Rockstar!
He's getting his first two teeth on the bottom. He's not even fussy about it either! Such a good baby.
The boys stopped for a quick shot on their way down the river.

Spice up your blog!

I just wanted to share a website that a friend of mine just shared with me (thanks Chantelle!!). There are some really cute backgrounds for your blog and you don't even have to mess with your widgets (all the little extras that you've added to your blog to make it pretty!). It's completely free.....yep as in F-R-E-E! You just need to add a link to her page. Have fun and happy blogging!
