Esmerelda

This is a Chilean Naval ship, Esmerelda that was in port for a little over a week. It is the second tallest ship in the world. Chris and Logan took a tour of it, or actually, went on deck. They were not allowed below deck. This ship is all lit up at night. I wish that my pics came out of it at night because it was beautiful. The Chilean sailors marched in the Liberation day parade but we missed it because left too early. Everyone said how cool it was because they march with straight legs...personally that kinda reminds me of the Nazi days! Check out the other pics in the picasa album. Instead of a mermaid on the front of the ship they have sort of chicken! haha!

Liberation Day

Ok so now we can say that we've been to the famous Liberation Day Parade. We were all drowned rats at the end of it because it rained like crazy. It was fun but this will probably be our last! Be sure to check out more of our parade photos in the Picasa photo album on the left.

Meet my new niece

Our family has been blessed with the addition of a little girl named Emerson. She was born July 12th at 1:44pm. She was 8lbs 1oz and 20 inches long with a FULL head of hair. My sister Christy gave birth after a loooong pregnancy and is currently resting at the hospital. Ethan is happy to have a little sister and has been very sweet and gentle with her. Congratulations Christy and Chris! I pray that Emerson has a long and happy life! I miss you all so much.

On the move again...

No, don't get your hopes up! Unfortunately, we are not leaving Guam yet but we have received a letter today stating that our house is going to be demolished so we have to find a new place to live. All within the same time frame of having a baby...oh goody. We are hoping to get into the base housing that is over on the larger naval base...what we call "Big Navy". There seems to be a good mix of families so lots of kids for the boys to play with. Where we are currently is practically a ghost town since a lot of families left and they are not moving anyone new into the neighborhood.

We've thought about moving out in town but with the upcoming expense of the private school we are sending Logan to, it might be too much on our budget. The military will pay for our rent and $500 towards utilities but we know several families that live out in town that pay around $700 for utilities. Plus some places do not come with major appliances.

All in all, with the current situation that we are in, a move to another base housing will probably be our best bet...if we can get one of the few houses that are available. That also means going from a 4 bdrm to a 3 bdrm....and I was already complaining about the lack of storage in this 4 bdrm house.....yowza!

Fun time at PIC resort

We had a great time at the PIC resort a few days ago. Logan got to practice on his swimming. The following day he was in the pool for 6 hours straight! I re-applied sunscreen on him twice and he still managed to get a sunburn on his face. I think I'll do it once an hour from now on!

Check out the video on www.youtube.com
You can find it by doing a search for Swimming at the PIC Resort. It's public so you don't need a password like last time.

Well that's it for now....headed off to the beach.

It's oh so quiet....

We're missing our girls. It's very quiet around the Morrison household...well, sort of. How quiet can it be with two boys? Logan has been pretty sad about it. Every day he tells me that he wants to fly on an airplane and leave this place. Can't say that I blame him but I think things will change for him in about a month since he will be starting school.
